Catalysed by the COVID experience, healthcare is undergoing end-to-end transformation fuelled by digital innovation, and new models of care and with it brings a new era of the patient-care provider relationship which places consumers at the centre of the health system.
As these new digital systems and care models begin embedding themselves into the core of healthcare, health infrastructure leaders not only have the opportunity to add bed capacity but also to reimagine the role and purpose of our built environments and facilities for our new era of healthcare.
With Victoria’s recent record $2.9 billion investment towards health facilities redevelopments over 2022-23 alone, the commitment to modernize and expand our built environments for this changing healthcare landscape is clear.

The phrase “disruptive innovation” is very much a reality in Victoria.
Off the back of the Victorian health sector’s 2021-2025 Digital Health Roadmap, the commitment to re-imagine the patient-healthcare provider relationship through the power of digital innovation, funding evolution, and new care models has been set.
Building on the objectives of system repair and reform and the intent of “Putting Patients First”, the foundations of a secure, resilient, scalable, and interconnected digital health ecosystem are developing as we progress into 2022.
Moreover, the idea of an interoperable health system is gaining momentum through progress on the Health Information Sharing (HIS) Legislation which will revolutionize quality, safety, and patient experience in the state.
Being in the digital health executive hot seat in such an environment is no mean feat. As drivers of this change, digital health leaders must paint a vision, demonstrate ROI, secure funding, and win the hearts and minds of staff and executives alike to build a digital-first health service of tomorrow. At the 10th Annual Victorian Healthcare Week’s Digital Healthcare Summit, we will deep dive into the art of bringing technology, healthcare, policy and funding together to take our health services forward into a new era of care services and delivery.
We look forward to hosting you in December
