Exhibitor Spotlight: Innovative Technology in Australia's Hygiene Market - Catching up with Gentec

03/05/2020

Ahead of AHW 2020, we take a look back at some of the new and innovative technology that was showcased onsite at last years expo.

Gentec’s Graeme Bunt and Vanessa Beever talk through 2 Aussie firsts in hygiene for healthcare: The off-set waste design in DDA friendly basins, and the newest laser-censored tap fixture.

2 years in the making, the aim of the off-set waste sink is to minimise the water waste that is common to most sink designs in Australia. Not only does this new design improve hygiene by reducing the risk of bio-film and water waste contamination, it’s unique design sees it easy to clean and makes it completed DDA friendly.

The new sensor tap implements cutting edge laser technology to reduce risk of legionella in high-use wash stations. Whilst traditional sensor taps use infra-red technology, which reacts poorly to darker pigmented skin, and is easily triggered by light reflective movement, the Gentec laser faucet uses new laser technology that irradiates random triggers and is far more sensitive to movement. It also features a self-flushing hygiene system that operates every 24 hours to keep stations clean and minimise the risk of harmful bacteria.
