Jose Acuin

Chief Medical Officer Asian Hospital and Medical Center

Dr. Jose M. Acuin is the Chief Medical Officer of Asian Hospital and Medical Center. He also served as its previous Chief Quality Officer, successfully leading its quality and safety accreditation initiatives, including the Joint Commission accreditation for two consecutive surveys. As an otolaryngologist – head and neck surgeon, Dr Acuin has been involved in leading and managing professional training and education programs, designing clinical services and developing clinical practice guidelines involving ear, nose and throat conditions. As a clinical epidemiologist and researcher, he has published and peer reviewed local and international papers. Dr Acuin has also served as a DOH and Philhealth consultant in policy analysis, quality improvement, patient safety, healthcare facility accreditation and health technology assessment. Dr. Acuin serves as board president of the Professionals for Autism Foundation, Inc and, being the father of a person with autism, has spearheaded the development of special needs educational and life skills programs. He plays the guitar and sings in several nonprofessional choirs.
